The Geek Supreme

The Last Jedi is finally out, and we've seen a lot of reactions.  In our last episode of 2017, we share ours.  Join us as we discuss all things Episode 8, including new characters, new force powers, humor scenes, character deaths, little porgs, Rey's parents and more.  We'll also fit The Last Jedi into our Star Wars rankings and talk about what may or may not happen in Episode 9.  Along the way, each contestant will be tempted by the dark side.  Event though we won't serve green milk or roasted porg, we would be honored if you would join us.

Salt Lake fought "The Con" and "The Con" won.  So, what happens now?  If San Diego trademarked "Comic-Con", how should other conventions respond?  We'll discuss.  We'll also talk about the prospects of a Quentin Tarantino Star Trek movie and who might star in it.  Also, we'll react to Wolverine heading to podcastland and Jessica Jones is back in March.  The show starts with Christmas present bribes and ends with The Force Awakens trivia questions.  That makes for a happy holiday episode full of toilet motivational, wiener cooking, time-turning fun with a dose of Kanjiklub and beasts.

This past week, people freaked when Daisy Ridley talked about being done after Episode 9.  Was the panic worth it, or was it an overreaction?  The first word spoken in The Last Jedi has been revealed, and we try to finish the sentence.  Did you know someone is trying to pick up girls on social media by claiming to be Chris Pratt?  There is, and he has something to say about it.  We'll discuss the Avengers Infinity War trailer and the controversy surrounding Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot crates.  We'll also predict Rotten Tomatoes scores for The Last Jedi.

Justice League is out, and we finally get to see who made the best Rotten Tomatoes prediction.  However, was the final result an injustice to The Justice League?  What does this all mean for the future of the DCEU?  What should happen next?  We'll discuss. Darth Taxus quizzes the contestants on DC animated and live action films.  Mark Hamill doesn't want people to spoil The Last Jedi, so Darth Taxus asks everyone to come up with the worst possible things that could happen in the movie.  As everyone knows, when Episode 8 is discussed, there is a good chance the word PORG will come up.

Hey you guuuuys! This week, we'll discuss two new TV show ideas - A Lord of the Rings series and a Goonies animated show.  Also, a company that turns motorcycles into speeder bikes has the us wondering what other vehicles we'd like to drive around.  Somehow Darth Taxus triggers a discussion about which characters in fandom deserve to have an electrical plug shoved in their mouth.  Wonder Woman made a lot of money at the box office.  So, does that mean it's time to make a Red Sonja movie?  And just how many 80s action/adventure movies can everyone name?  You'll find that out and hear Rotten Tomatoes predictions for Justice League. Sloth would want you to grab your Baby Ruth now and listen to today's podcast.

The Geek Supreme competition is back with a new round of questions.  Should Marvel create their own convention?  How scary was that New Mutants trailer?  How scary was that Last Jedi trailer?  Does Emperor Palpatine need to be greased up? (Wait, how did that question get in there?) Listen to find out, and try not to throw up a little.

You'll hear the results and find out how much they know about the ponies.  They'll also discuss the new Sigmund and the Sea Monsters show that's coming to Amazon.  Plus, everyone will share what New York Comic-Con news caught their attention, including retro themes, comics, famous people in costumes, animation and more.  Then, we find out who has had the most embarrassing experience at a convention (Scott and Jeff make that a close one).  Finally, we'll play the geek version of Password - GEEKWORD.

Last week, Jeff and Regina engaged in a passionate disagreement about Star Trek Discovery.  This week we find out how that debate continued past the show and into text messaging.  We'll also learn if anything has changed since the second episode of the series was released.  In other TV talk, Scott reviews Young Sheldon and Regina shares her thoughts on Inhumans.  So, why is James Cameron making another Terminator?  Better yet, why is he continuously DUMPING on Wonder Woman?  Is it fair to pit Sarah Connor against Diana Prince?  David Bowie could've been the new Blade Runner villain, so Darth Taxus wants to know what other musicians would make great villains (and screamers).  The geeks will also react to Danny Elfman's comments about his approach to the Justice League soundtrack and make Rotten Tomatoes predictions for My Little Pony: The Movie.

This week's Geek Supreme is filled with comic book characters, science fiction and bullet holes (not to be confused with bullet hoes). Is Inhumans already cancelled?  Are we sill angry about Firefly? How good can The Punisher series be when compared to the other Netflix shows?  How much does Jeff know about Sabrina the Teenage Witch? And what did everyone think about the first episode of Star Trek Discovery?  Hint: Not everyone agrees.  Who will have the best answers to these and other geeked out questions?

Along the way, the geeks will put their own director into a Star Wars movie, change their body colors and try not to laugh at Darth Taxus's jokes.  This first episode has a little bit of everything, including a very close game!
